roles of citizens

the relationship between citizens and my CP. is essential. the public library runs based on the interaction and needs of the citizens in each county. they interact on a high level of communication and support. the relationship that citizens and my CP is a give and take type of relationship. citizens offers ideas, donations, and basically there presence. the library offers, opportunities such as story time, computer class and resource forms such as forms to file for taxes. with out the library, a lot of the citizens would not have as many resources at their reach, without citizens, the library would not be able to function as smoothly and successfully. the progress of the library relies on each citizen who visits the library.

Judical process blog 11

The library uses the judical process as way of resolving prolems when problems such as crimanal acts are done within the library. acts such as threatening emails sent from the public computers, cyber bullying, phone calls and video chats.
Each branch also has there own judicial process when dealing with small library concern and problems, there  is a chain of command and a course of action for each incident or complaint.

Taxtion and belmont library

The library is said to be non profit, they gain money through local resources and donations. the library also receives money by having charges put on the persons library account when a book as been overdue , also by charing a printing, photocopying and faxing charge.
my CP, does not have the power to tax residents for using the services that the library provides.any contributions to the library are tax deductible.

blog 8 & 10

The Belmont public library , in San Mateo county receives a lot of their funding and program availability from veriest local organizations. there is no particular leaders who hold a key impact on the success or development of the library. Each partner, holds a major role in the functioning of the library, there are some who contribute more then others but overall, the contributions each organization offers, plays an important role in the library staying successful. a few of the partnerships that the library gives special thanks to is:

  1. Belmont's department of parks and rec.
  2. peninsula humane society
  3. San Mateo bar association
  4. Girl scouts of America
  5. Sequoia union high school and Carlmont high school
  6. Puente Costa Del Sur Resource Center
The library accepts monetary and book donations. they accept money, memorial requests and bequest.
my CP. is not  subjected to periodic applications , approval or  re application. the generosity and  partnerships of each public and governmental entities is voluntary. However, the library does have a form that is needed to be filled out before making a donations. the donation form , gives options on how the donator would like to be dispersed, the notification of the donation if it is either in honor of or in memory of a loved one. the donation is not required but unless the donation is anonymous, the form is highly recommended.
the donations  from partnerships, are on a reliable manner, until the library is notified that the
partnership no longer wants to have connections to the branch they are under.

CPL

I was disappointed when i couldn't volunteer with the cpl of my first choice ( the airport), but i realize that the airport administration is not as organized or keeps up to date with there programs frequently. Its like the airport only focuses on the programs that have a lot of "traffic "meaning that its considered an important interest to there members. The airport had a volunteer program , but they basically but the program into sleep mode. they have a whole department dedicated to internships and volunteering but yet they don't have any programs set up. They wont be able to make any positions until the summer, so i decided to work with the public library. the public library is extremely connected to their community and county ,they offer so many programs for children and adolescents and they are always in search for new volunteers.
SO far , i have enjoyed meeting the staff at the library and nice to see how much the kids enjoy all the things they library has to offer.

How important is political Campaigns to Local Airports.

San Carlos airport is a local airport but according to the research that i have conducted, i haven't found any information on San Carlos participating with any  political campaigns or their candidates.
San Carlos airport association ( SCAPA)  is run by thirteen board of directory members and over 300 general members. SCAPA is one of the largest pilots organization in the nation. The main focus of SCAPA is to :
-be an advocate for the airport , and promote the airports interests to local government agencies, the public and members and staff of the San Carlos airport.
-and hold meetings addressing topics such as aviation safety, noise procedures, product innovations, local Political and environmental status ,operational techniques etc.
The airport does state that they are actively involved with the politics of their state or their local government campaigns in San Carlos. the airport is more focused on campaigning and lobbying in support for their airport to gain more funding , members and support.

I believe that the San Carlos airport wouldn't participate in political campaigns because it would cause tension and confrontation towards the airport. unless the campaign is harming the airport such as a candidate wanting to destroy or change the surrounding area of the airport then probably the airport would be more involved.
The airport may participate in campaigns because at the end of the day , the airport is still a business and by advertising/ supporting a certain candidate or campaign could bring in more money, clients both passengers and politics, and more support in the things the airport needs.

The sisters of Notre Dame de Namur

Notre Dame de Namur university's education is based on alot of fundamental values. One of the most important vaules the sisters of Notre Dame wanted to make clear, is that community out reach is extremely important. After completing college, the values of the sister will help a political science major in many ways. it will not only benefit them in succeeding in a great career but the values the sisters bestolded on there student also helps them develop personally, and establishes a connection between greed and genority.
NDNU focuses on volunteering  more then other schools that are in close radius. Political science majors don't only need to know about politics. they should  know how to work within a community and to accomplish tasks that benefit an entire group versus one individual. You gain a better communication skills along with a broader perspective on life. Political science majors , due to their involvement in volunteering and other acts listed in the sister of notre dame hallmarks. They are not just limited to only focusing on a career in politics or have to go to law school. There background can help them become great activist in fighting for human rights, the environment and so forth. For graduates who do decided to go to law school, it will be easier to pick what field of law they want to specialize in. Maybe on one of their volunteer trips they worked with a lot of migrant workers, so their field of law can focus on immigration. or they dealt a lot with families on their trips with the school so they decided to focus on family law. in some way, the sisters of Notre Dame and their ideas, will in someway effect a political science graduate. Being that NDNU is a catholic school, it also has a positive effect on each graduating student. The sisters install faith, honesty, boldness, love and commitment in each of their students which in the end helps them plan for their future goals.
